Handmade one at a time in my studio in Mexico. I draw the embroidery design roughly and the Mayan women do their magic making each piece unique.

Finally my book is going to London!! Well there is going to be an exhibition on the 6 August in Richmix http://www.richmix.org.uk/whats-on/exhibitions/?pg=2&pt=wo in the east end near Brick lane. I hope a few people like it at least but I have a feeling the London will love this quirky cool bunch of kids strutting their stuff and doing their own local thing in Mexico! COME ALONG!!!! Finally my book is out, I have been busy lately and wondered if it is worth doing a blog as the internet is pretty overwhelming but its nice to put something on once a week if possible. Anyway after 6 years of working the book is now on Amazon, there will be an exhibition also soon. Its made with a fashion sketchbook and streetstyle flavour.

Life drawing class in Convento de San Bernadino in Valladolid Yucatan

When I went through the San Bernadino Convent the first time I thought it would be an amazing place to do an illustration or drawing class, it is so lovely and steeped in history. I love inspector Morse and the way that programme intergrates the Oxford Universities so I like the idea of doing something like that in such a historical building.

I looked at the book The Farm by Jackie Nickerson, I loved it, everyone did. At the time I was going to flea markets in London quite alot while I was studying at the Royal so I realised I had to incorporate this into my concept as it was at the core of what I was interested at the time.

Hardwax records in Kreuzberg Berlin

A record shop in Berlin that I went to in the summer. Its beside the canal in Kreuzberg, really hidden, you go through an arch and then see the door way and all the way up the stairs is totally graffiti all over every surface possible....it adds to the flavour. Berlin was full of graffiti, it does not always look good or fit but in this setting leading to the very cool Hardwax vinyls it really fitted the experience well.

Mexico City and chapultapec castle

The amazing Chapultapec castle in Mexico city, LOVED it!! Really long but lovely walk around hill to get in but its better than sitting on the train and getting fat. Very elegant.

Cenotes near Tulum in Yucatan

The cenotes in Tulum are amazing, they are clear water natural pools under ground.

Macro Plaza superstar 1

I met these guys in the macro plaza a few days before I left Monterrey.

The tradition of dressing up in these victorian style dresses is so cute here, although it seems slightly kitch, it is the best day for them and they love it.

Oaxaca dressing up

In oaxaca the children dressed up on a sunday and danced in costumes, lovely they make all the masks with papermache themselves.

This is the sort of thing you NEVER see in England....a young boy just hanging out at the top of the church in the bell tower, but its ok he didn't fall or die he's ok. Este es el tipo de cosas que nunca se ve en Inglaterra .... un joven acaba de salir en la parte superior de la iglesia en la torre del campanario, pero está bien no caer o morir, le está bien.
